Ringing in the Regatta Experience

Man and Woman watching a regatta

The most fun, and the best way to learn more about rowing, is by attending Regattas, and the Bellringer Regatta promises to be a day of fun with plenty of entertainment, socializing and food! Regattas are an all day and so we have some tips for making the best of the day.

At the Regatta - Lots of activities going on at a regatta and we want to keep everyone safe. Please pay attention as you walk around the park and remember that the people carrying the boat really have the right of way - boats weigh a lot, and they can’t dodge you! Be aware, and be prepared to hop out of the way and/or duck.

For the safety of the competitors, we are asking that all "non-event" water crafts stay off the lake during the regatta. The boats that the teams race in are very shallow and can tip easily so any unnecessary wakes are essential. We thank everyone in advance for adhering to this request.

Weather - The Bellringer Regatta is a rain or shine event. Races will be held as long as the weather is safe, which is generally defined as not extraordinarily windy and no thunder. Weather updates will be communicated through all of our social media forums.

What to Wear - Dress in layers, remembering that the wind can be very cutting by the water, and it weather can change at moments notice - form cool to warm. Wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. A hat or cap of some sort for sun/rain is important. Sunglasses and sun screen are also very important, as the glare off of the water can be difficult.

What to Bring - You may want to bring a chair, a blanket and some binoculars.
